Though large new out of town business parks are rare now, there is still plenty of office and light industrial development activity, and the market for large sheds or distribution premises is buoyant. Office development is becoming more difficult now it is subject to the "sequential test" of site availability – a procedure which is very familiar to us at DPP through our retail planning work. The sustainability agenda is growing in importance for all business uses, as the energy efficiency measures already introduced for residential development extend to the commercial sector.
