Training and Career Development
DPP has a well-developed career structure from Assistant Planner through to Planning Director. We provide all employees with the opportunity to acquire and develop the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their full range of duties effectively and to prepare them for the next stage of their career.
On the job planners will gain varied experience, working on projects on behalf of our residential, commercial and retail clients. You will work with experienced planners and Directors across a number of different disciplines who will provide you with the support and guidance needed to develop your expertise.
Foundation Programme
DPP has a Foundation Programme which has been running successfully since August 2007. The programme supports all planners during their first two years at work. The programme is designed to instil skills and planning knowledge to accelerate development and ensure achievement of your RTPI or IPI (or equivalent) membership; also to ensure that you have the right skills to do your job at DPP effectively.
A comprehensive performance appraisal process underpins DPP's commitment to developing its people. This provides a two-way forum for feedback and regular discussion of personal development plans, training needs and promotion prospects.

The programme complements on-the-job learning with sessions focused on the technical aspects of planning and on business and soft skills. It also brings planners across the firm together regularly, providing mutual support and networking opportunities. |
