DPP strengthens sustainability team

Independent planning and environmental consultancy DPP has strengthened its sustainability team with the appointment of two consultants.

Laura Jones, an experienced sustainability consultant, joins DPP from Coventry City Council and Oliver Smithson from London South Bank University having graduated earlier this year.  Both join the firm on Monday 6 September.

Sunil Shah, a partner and head of DPP’s sustainability practice said: “We are very excited by the arrival of Laura and Oliver.  Laura’s appointment will help us grow and expand the non-planning related services we offer and Oliver will support the work we do within the energy consulting field.  I look forward to the contribution they both will make.

Laura Jones, Senior Environmental Consultant, brings a wealth of experience in managing environmental risk and ensuring legal compliance, in improving environmental performance particularly through the ISO14001 accreditation, and in data collection, analysis and reporting.  Laura has worked in the Environmental Advice Services team at Coventry City Council since 2006 providing environmental management advice and sustainability consulting services to a portfolio of more than 100 companies.

Oliver is a graduate in Building Services Engineering and is currently studying for a LET Diploma in Lighting at London South Bank University.  He also has a Technical Diploma in Environmental Physics from I.T.I.S.E. Fermi in Italy.

Commenting on her new role Laura said: “I am very excited by the opportunities open to me at DPP and I look forward to developing my career further with the firm. DPP has an enviable client base and is providing cutting edge consulting services to them.”

DPP’s sustainability team is currently acting for Tesco, Goodman International, Irwin Mitchell, Ministry of Justice, AEGON, Taylor Wimpey and British Land.
