A More Flexible Planning System?

Introduction

On 1st October 2009 some significant changes to planning legislation will come into force in England. These changes are designed to help kick-start the property and construction industry and remove some of the more frustrating aspects of the planning system. The 2004 Planning Act reduced the life of a planning permission from five years to three, and removed the ability to extend an existing permission. Since then, many developers have struggled to implement schemes, especially in the current climate.
