Chiswick House and Gardens, London Borough of Hounslow - English Heritage

Chiswick House is recognised as one of the most glorious examples of 18th century British architecture and garden design. It is exceptional; listed at grade I and also a scheduled monument. The designed landscape is registered at grade I and all fall within the Chiswick House Conservation Area. The numerous other structures and ornaments within the gardens are also listed at grade I.

Chiswick House is in the care of English Heritage and its grounds owned by LB Hounslow, who maintain them as a public park. Phase one of the £12 million Chiswick House and Gardens Restoration Project (led by the Chiswick House and Gardens Trust and part funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund) was to restore the historic landscape and provide new facilities for users of the park.

DPP Heritage was engaged by English Heritage to prepare and advise on a planning strategy based upon the technical and procedural requirements for the submission of applications for planning permission, listed building consent and scheduled monument consent for various works and development associated with the restoration of the house and its landscape.
